This is a full-day class where you will learn how to paint sunset skies.
During this session we will be painting two small paintings, one of the western sky (where the sun sets) and the second of the eastern sky with beautiful subtle transition of colour.
We will start the session with an introduction to the colour wheel and colour theory followed with an introduction to tonal values. These principles will then help us understand how to paint our sky paintings.
This class is good for beginners and anyone who wants to experiment with using oil paints. You will have a brief introduction about oil painting and the materials that we will be using. We will also talk about landscape painting and the approach.
You do not need to buy any materials as I will be providing them (all materials included).
Half way through we will have a 45 min break. Lunch is not included.
What you will learn:
- How to understand colour: new concepts of the colour theory and mixing and its application in the landscape
- Observing and painting water reflections in oils, composition and creating depth using colour, tone and perspective
- Using underpainting and layering of paint while blending colours to create beautiful colours
What to wear:
There is a chance that you stain your clothes, so wear clothes that you do not mind if you stain them
